Let me FLOAT something by you..

F.L.O.A.T. is the research paper that changed my life and will change yours too. What started while watching fireworks over Stuart, Florida July, 2022 as a simple concept of coastal mobility, inspired a research endeavor spanning 1000 miles and four countries of coasts, keys, and cayes. I was inspired, afraid, and mesmerized..

F.L.O.A.T. documents my journey and all the beautiful moments and ugly tragedies of what it means to be humans. On small rocks of land, you can not hide from nature nor dilute human impacts. When I began, I was seeking ingenuity to help my home state of Florida address transportation issues and endeavored to learn whether marine vessels can solve the housing crisis and manage goods and service logistics by water. When on land, I was starting a compost business, Darn Good Dirt. What I discovered are the terrifying realities of humanity, the ingenuity of humans, and how we can harness the ocean for so much more.

“F.L.O.A.T. Funding and Logistics: Oceans, Assets, & Transportation” paper is peer reviewed and follows planning principals of observing, learning, considering concepts, funding, communication, and coordination. It is shocking in many ways and offers short to long-term solutions and concepts. The book is for all to explore, think, enjoy, learn, and inspire.

FLOAT version 2.0 will document a pilot project as I attempt a materials management start up abroad, interviews with young and old (like the time I picked up a 10 year old hitchhiker), and a beginners guide for maintenance to live on a vessel. There may be a few thoughtful recipes and destination recommendations too.

So please allow me to F.L.O.A.T. something by you…..this is the part where you click and join the newsletter.
